Minnesota enters Week 5 on the heels of a huge letdown with Purdue looking to start the year with an impressive 4-1 record.

The Gophers did the unthinkable in Week 4, losing to Bowling Green after shutting out Colorado the week before. That dropped Minnesota to 2-2 in the early season.

For Purdue, the Boilermakers rallied late to take down Illinois and move to 3-1 on the year. The only loss for Jeff Brohm’s team thus far was a defeat to Notre Dame.

The two B1G West teams will face off this weekend, and ESPN’s FPI sees a huge favorite for the game. According to the FPI, Purdue is given a 70.5% chance of taking home the win at home.

A win for the Boilermakers would give a boost to the team heading into a bye week. Purdue would move on to face Iowa with a 4-1 record out of the bye.

For Minnesota, things will likely be tough in Week 5 but they do not get any easier moving forward. The Gophers must still face Nebraska, Maryland, Iowa, Indiana, and Wisconsin, and things could get ugly quickly in Minneapolis.
