ESPN’s FPI predicts outcome of Penn State-Ohio State game

Saturday’s Week 9 contest between Ohio State and Penn State features 2 teams trending in totally different directions.
On one side, James Franklin’s Nittany Lions limp in a bit banged up and coming off a 2-game losing streak. The hard-fought loss to Iowa was disappointing but the loss at home to Illinois was a shocker, dropping Penn State out of B1G East contention for the time being.
On the other side, Ryan Day’s Buckeyes are hitting their stride and coming off throttling Indiana on the road. Ohio State has reached 50+ points in 4 straight games with 3 of those performances coming against B1G East squads.
Heading into Week 9, ESPN’s FPI has updated the odds for the showdown between Penn State and Ohio State. Needless to say, the Buckeyes are favored by a wide margin with an 87.0% chance of getting the win.
Can Penn State regroup and make this a tough contest on the road, or will the Buckeyes cruise to another big output? Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on ABC.
