Penn State kept rolling right along in Week 5!

After a scary wakeup call against Pittsburgh in Week 3, the Nittany Lions headed to College Park as about a touchdown favorite over the Terrapins. Fortunately, James Franklin and company did a little bit better than that.

The Nittany Lions absolutely steamrolled Mike Locksley’s Maryland squad on both sides of the ball in a 59-0 drubbing. That shutout pushed Penn State to 4-0 and sitting in a good spot heading into the heat of the season.

The toughest part of the Nittany Lions’ schedule remains in front of them with 8 conference games left and four games remaining against ranked opponents. Still, ESPN’s FPI currently is giving a favorable outlook to Franklin’s squad.

Here’s the win probability the rest of the way, according to the FPI:

  • Oct. 5 vs Purdue – 96.8%
  • Oct. 12 @ Iowa – 65.7%
  • Oct. 19 vs Michigan – 77.4%
  • Oct. 26 @ Michigan State – 60.2%
  • Nov. 9 @ Minnesota – 84.1%
  • Nov. 16 vs Indiana – 92.3%
  • Nov. 23 @ Ohio State – 22.2%
  • Nov. 30 vs Rutgers – 99.0%
