ESPN’s FPI has a prediction for Iowa in Week 3. Iowa is 1-1 after playing South Dakota State and Iowa State so far.

Iowa State beat Iowa for the first time since 2014 on Saturday, 10-7. The Hawkeyes will now get a chance to reset in Week 3. The Hawkeyes are taking on Nevada at home.

It was another poor offensive showing for Iowa in Week 2. Spencer Petras had 92 yards passing with 1 interception. The team’s only touchdown came from Leshon Williams. Williams finished the game with 34 yards rushing on 14 carries. The team’s receiving yards leader was Sam LaPorta, who led the team in that category last season.

This will be the first time that Iowa and Nevada have met in football. The Wolf Pack have a new head coach this season in Ken Wilson. Nevada is 2-1 after wins over New Mexico State and Texas State. Its 1 loss is from Incarnate Word.

The Football Power Index thinks that Iowa can rebound against the Wolf Pack, and gives the Hawkeyes a 89.6% chance of victory. Petras will have a chance to prove that his start to the season so far doesn’t define him as a quarterback.

Iowa will need to find a way to have a complete showing in order to have a chance at a B1G West title once again.

Iowa and Nevada kicks off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
