Penn State narrowly escaped disaster in West Lafayette, downing Purdue 35-31 in the last minute to remain undefeated on the season.

The Nittany Lions’ Week 2 opponent, Ohio, is also 1-0, having downed FAU 41-38 in Week 1.

ESPN’s FPI gives the Nittany Lions a 96.4% chance of remaining perfect heading into their Week 3 SEC duel against Auburn.

Sean Clifford has the Nittany Lions playing well heading into Week 2. He totaled 282 yards passing on 20 completions Thursday, cashing in on 4 touchdowns with just 1 interception. He also did some work with his legs, rushing in a score.

Perhaps because of this, freshman quarterback Drew Allar is bound to see action on Saturday against the Bobcats in the second quarter. Allar made a brief appearance after Clifford took a scary hit to the knee, but was only in the game for 4 attempted passes. If you’re wondering, he completed 2 of them for 26 yards.

Freshman back Nick Singleton will probably have some time to show off his talents as well. He and fellow freshman Kaytron Allen each saw upwards of 8 touches Thursday.

Kickoff between the Nittany Lions and Bobcats is set for Noon on ABC. The game will be played in University Park at Beaver Stadium.
