ESPN’s FPI predicts the winner of Indiana at Michigan State

Michigan State has turned its season around nicely with a huge win over then-ranked No. 17 Illinois last Saturday. The Spartans kept their hot streak going with a win over Rutgers in Week 11, propelling them to 5-5 on the season.
So out of nowhere, a bowl bid is definitely in play for the Spartans. It’s been a rollercoaster of a year, the least Mel Tucker’s squad could do is deliver that for the fans.
Indiana stands in the way of that, looking to score just its 4th win on the season. The Hoosiers too have a big win over Illinois, coming in Week 1 and serving as their biggest win of the season. They travel to East Lansing having lost 7 straight following a 3-0 start.
ESPN’s FPI does not like their chances of snapping that streak. According to the metric, the Spartans have a 83.8% chance of taking care of business and earning a bowl bid this Saturday.
Payton Thorne will likely be the catalyst of this win should they indeed win the day. The veteran quarterback has had a bit of a turbulent season, throwing for 2,152 yards, 16 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
Connor Bazelak is looking to play upset on Indiana’s side. He’s thrown for 2,111 yards, 12 touchdowns and 9 interceptions after transferring from Mizzou.
The game is set for Noon at Spartan Stadium.
