ESPN’s FPI predicts toughest remaining games on Ohio State’s schedule

Ohio State is roaring ahead following Week 4, and ESPN’s FPI is starting to believe in the Buckeyes big time.
Following Saturday’s 76-point outburst against Miami (OH), Ryan Day and company are up to No. 3 overall on the FPI. That has them just behind Alabama and Clemson, two teams that most analysts expected to headline the College Football Playoff field.
In terms of Game Control, Ohio State is listed at 97.7 which is good enough for second overall in the country. The Buckeyes also have the No. 4 offense and No. 5 defense in terms of efficiency.

Needless to say, there’s a long way to go after Week 4, but Ohio State is looking strong across the board. The FPI is currently favoring the Buckeyes by at least 75% in every game the rest of the way, and four of the remaining eight games have a win probability of 89% or higher.
When it’s all said and done, here are the three toughest games remaining on Ohio State’s schedule in terms of win probability:
- Oct. 26 vs Wisconsin – 75.1%
- Nov. 23 vs Penn State – 79.4%
- Nov. 30 @ Michigan – 81.0%
Can the Buckeyes win the B1G and finally make a return to the CFP?
