There’s going to be a fight for a trophy in the B1G in Week 11. Illinois and Purdue are going to be playing for the Purdue Cannon in Champaign on Saturday.

Purdue has taken home the trophy twice in the last three years and is coming into the game on a two-game winning streak against the Fighting Illini. To give you an idea of how close this game can be, last season’s meeting was decided by a score of 13-9 in favor of the Boilermakers.

Something has changed in the B1G West, however. Purdue is now tied for second place with Wisconsin. Purdue will need to win this game and hope Illinois and Wisconsin slip up to have a shot at the division title.

Back-to-back losses to Wisconsin and Iowa has not done Purdue a lot of favors. The Boilermakers have a chance to get back on track against Illinois.

Luckily for Illinois, Purdue has been slacking. This was especially helpful to the Fighting Illini since they lost to Michigan State in Week 10. Winning this game over Purdue could really help out their chances of securing the B1G West title.

The FPI thinks that Illinois will break its losing streak to Purdue on Saturday. It’s favoring Illinois over Purdue 65.5% to 34.5%.

Kickoff is going to be noon ET on ESPN2.
