Wisconsin football is making quite the second half comeback this season under Jim Leonhard.

No, it’s not exactly glamorous, but the Badgers have pulled off a couple strong wins in the back half of the season to reposition itself for a bowl game come the end of the season. A few weeks ago, that looked pretty hopeless.

ESPN’s FPI projects the chances of Wisconsin reaching a bowl game at 84.1 %, a very favorable number.

To get there, the Badgers would have to win at least 2 of their remaining 4 games against Maryland, Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. For what it’s worth, Wisconsin is favored in all 4 of those games.

And that’s surprising for a team that lost to Michigan State just 2 weeks ago.

Nebraska and Iowa seem like locks at this point, though Minnesota and Maryland could be a little tougher. The Badgers final game of the year against the Golden Gophers is at home in Madison, and should favor Wisconsin.

It’ll be close, but it looks like the preseason No. 18 squad will play 13 games in 2022.
