The Big Ten’s 2021 season is finally here.

The first game on the schedule is Nebraska-Illinois, which will take place this upcoming Saturday, Aug. 28.

Nebraska is favored to win the game, which is the first of the Bret Bielema era at Illinois. The Illinois fired coach Lovie Smith at the end of last season.

ESPN’s Football Power Index is giving the Huskers a 65 percent chance to win this week’s game.

This is one of five games on Nebraska’s schedule that the Huskers are favored to win according to FPI. The others are Fordham (99.4 percent), Buffalo (75.8 percent), Purdue (70 percent) and Northwestern (53.6 percent).

Illinois is only favored to win one B1G this season, per FPI. That game is against Rutgers (52.7 percent) on Oct. 30.

Neither Nebraska nor Illinois are expected to release a public depth chart prior to the game this weekend.

Illinois and Nebraska kick off at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday.
