A lot of action in Week 6 continued to shape the race for the B1G!

Week 6 featured some good games and the results were key in both divisions. In Ann Arbor, Michigan outlasted Iowa to give the Hawkeyes their first loss overall and first conference loss of the season. That gives Iowa an early handicap as it tries to keep pace with undefeated Wisconsin. The win for the Wolverines kept them alive in the East race.

In Columbus, Ohio State used a big second quarter to put away Michigan State. It was far from a perfect performance for Justin Fields and company, but it was more than enough in a 34-10 win at home. It keeps the Buckeyes near the top of the rankings while giving the Spartans their second loss of the season and knocking them out of the top 25.

The other two hot B1G teams, Penn State and Wisconsin, cruised without much of a threat from Purdue and Kent State, respectively. Moving forward, it should be a great race in the East and West divisions for a trip to Indianapolis.

Coming out of Week 6, here is how ESPN’s FPI is predicting the odds to win the B1G:

  • Ohio State – 64.7%
  • Wisconsin – 21.6%
  • Penn State – 9.9%

No other team in the conference is currently being given more than a five percent chance to win the B1G.
