ESPN’s Heather Dinich lays out path for Ohio State to get to CFP

Don’t dismiss Ohio State from the College Football Playoff conversation, not yet. One ESPN analyst has made a convincing argument that the Buckeyes chances are alive and well.
ESPN College Football Playoff insider Heather Dinich discussed the possibility of Ohio State still getting into the final four despite a pair of losses on the résumé. So that means, even though the Buckeyes have locked up the B1G East, there’s a lot more riding on Saturday’s game against Michigan.
“Consider this — Alabama wins, Miami wins, Oklahoma wins their respective conference championships, they’re in.” Dinich said on SportsCenter. “There’s three. You’re down to a two-loss Ohio State and a two-loss Pac-12 team, all conference champions. In that scenario, Alabama winning knocks out the possibility of a second team from the SEC. Miami winning knocks out the possibility of a second ACC team.
“Oklahoma is in with one loss as Big 12 champ, where do you go? You go Buckeyes.”
In that scenario, Ohio State would have quality wins over Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan and Wisconsin with losses to the Sooners and Iowa. The Buckeyes would also b B1G champions.
That situation would require a lot of things to work in Ohio State’s favor, but it’s all still within the realm of possibility.
