Northwestern joins Ohio State and Indiana this week in ESPN Playoff Predictor’s top-10 teams given a chance to make the College Football Playoffs.
The Buckeyes chances edged up slightly from last week to 88%, while the Hoosiers slid to just 3%, after being given a 17% chance of making the playoff last week.
Northwestern enters the list at 1%, as the Wildcats will have an uphill climb to reach the CFP, having to face the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Ohio State had the week off after having their rivalry game with Michigan canceled due to COVID-19 issues, and the Indiana game with Purduewas canceled for the same reason. Northwestern did play, and easily disposed of Illinois.
With Clemson having the week off, USC climbed to the fourth spot and is given a 50% chance of reaching the December playoffs, while Alabama (99%) and Notre Dame (69%) each round out the top four spots.
Stay tuned this week, as any upsets will certainly shake things up.
