No. 5 Oklahoma State came into Championship Weekend with a strong chance to make the first College Football Playoff appearance in program history with a win over No. 9 Baylor in the Big 12 Championship Game. Instead of taking care of business against Baylor as the Cowboys did earlier in the season with a 24-14 win on Oct. 2, Oklahoma State is falling apart on both sides of the ball.

If Baylor holds on to the lead coming out of halftime, there will be major implications in the race for a Playoff spot. According to ESPN’s Playoff Predictor, with a Baylor win over Oklahoma State, four other teams get a huge boost in a spot in the Playoff. No. 6 Notre Dame’s chances rise by 15%, No. 3 Alabama’s chances rise by 11%, undefeated No. 4 Cincinnati’s chances rise by 5%, and No. 2 Michigan’s chances rise by 4%.

No. 7 Ohio State’s chances for a playoff spot go down by 36% with the bigger chances of Notre Dame taking the last spot. Ohio State would likely need a loss from Michigan to No. 13 Iowa or a Cincinnati loss to No. 21 Houston for a chance to be potentially included.
