ESPN’s Playoff Predictor has been updated coming out of Week 7, and the system sees a couple of heavy favorites and a muddled picture the rest of the way.
Checking in at the top of the predictor is Ohio State. The Buckeyes were idle in Week 7 but are 6-0 and are given the best odds to make the Playoff (81%) and win the national title (30%). Georgia is the other heavy favorite with a 71% shot at the Playoff and 24% shot at winning the title.
Behind those heavy favorites, the system has 4 teams that given between 48-52% odds of making the CFP. That group includes Clemson, Alabama, Michigan and Tennessee.
Despite beating the Crimson Tide in Week 7, the Volunteers are right behind Alabama on the predictor. Nick Saban’s squad also maintains the 3rd-best odds to win the national title at 19%.

While the B1G does have a solid shot at two teams with Ohio State and Michigan, no other team in the conference landed inside the top 10. Penn State — undefeated entering Week 7 — took a heavy slide after a blowout loss to Michigan.
