Every B1G team’s bowl record since 2014 expansion

Now that the weirdness of the shortened 2020 college football season is behind us, fans and players alike can begin to look forward to a more normal experience in 2021 and beyond.
Among the weirdness of last season was the reduction of bowl games available and the late cancellation of other planned bowl games. Iowa was among those bowl-eligible teams to see a game wiped away due to COVID-19.
Heading into 2021, the B1G will enter its eighth season since the league expanded to 14 teams. With seven full seasons in the books, it provides a good point to examine how teams have fared in the postseason since expanding.
Only one team can claim to be undefeated in bowl play since 2014, and that is actually Rutgers. However, that distinction comes with the caveat that the Scarlet Knights have played just one bowl game since 2014, and it came all the way back in 2014.
Teams that have thrived since 2014 include Wisconsin, Ohio State, Northwestern, and Minnesota with each of those teams boasting at least four bowl wins in the past seven seasons. The teams that have struggled the most since expansion are Michigan and Indiana with both dropping four games in bowl play. Illinois, Indiana, and Maryland are the only teams in the league without a bowl victory since 2014.
Here is the full list of B1G teams and their respective records in the postseason:
- Illinois: 0-2 (Last bowl win: 2011 Fight Hunger Bowl/Redbox Bowl)
- Iowa: 3-3 (Last win: 2019 Holiday Bowl)
- Indiana: 0-4 (Last win: 1991 Copper Bowl/Cheez-it Bowl)
- Maryland: 0-2 (Last win: 2010 Military Bowl)
- Michigan: 1-4 (Last win: 2015 Citrus Bowl)
- Michigan State: 3-2 (Last win: 2019 Pinstripe Bowl)
- Minnesota: 4-1 (Last win: 2019 Outback Bowl)
- Nebraska: 1-2 (Last win: 2015 Foster Farms Bowl/Redbox Bowl)
- Northwestern: 4-1 (Last win: 2020 Citrus Bowl)
- Ohio State: 6-3 (Includes CFP games. Last win: 2020 Sugar Bowl)
- Penn State: 3-3 (Last win: 2019 Cotton Bowl)
