Every B1G team’s Vegas Power Ranking entering Week 3

College football fans are always eager to learn how coaches and media members rank the top 25 teams. Out in Las Vegas, oddsmakers have power rankings for all 133 FBS teams.
College football guru Phil Steele maintains connections to the smartest folks in the desert. Steele has published weekly in-season Vegas Power Ratings since his time at ESPN. He’s now independent but continues to publish the Vegas Power Ratings, with weekly updates on his own website during the season.
Like the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll, Georgia has the top number in Steele’s Vegas Power Ratings (137.89). Michigan is the highest-ranked B1G team by Vegas, but at No. 3 overall, behind Florida State (133.99).
Steele notes that the difference in 2 teams’ Vegas Ratings gives an idea of what the opening betting line would be if they met on a neutral field. The Game isn’t until November, but if Michigan and Ohio State were to meet on a neutral field in Week 3, the Wolverines would be favored by 1 point, according to Steele’s Vegas numbers.
Here’s where the 14 B1G teams stand heading into the Week 3 slate:
- No. 3 Michigan (133.91 Vegas Rating)
- No. 4 Ohio State (132.85)
- No. 6 Penn State (131.36)
- No. 24 Wisconsin (119.02)
- No. 25 Iowa (118.30)
- No. 30 Minnesota (116.27)
- No. 31 Maryland (116.12)
- No. 44 Illinois (113.30)
- No. 55 Nebraska (110.50)
- No. 68 Michigan State (108.47)
- No. 70 Purdue (107.07)
- No. 78 Rutgers (104.85)
- No. 88 Indiana (101.19)
- No. 106 Northwestern (97.89)
