Everything Tom Allen said at his weekly press conference following blowout loss to Iowa

Sometimes high expectations can lead to disappointments, and for Indiana football fans this season started with the bar set pretty high after a 2020 season that saw success in Bloomington that hadn’t been seen in a while.

Hoosier’s head coach Tom Allen held his weekly Monday morning press conference following Saturday’s top-25 showdown between the Hoosiers and the Iowa Hawkeyes that ended with a 34-6 blowout loss to the Hawkeyes.

It’s safe to say he was disappointed.

Things didn’t go as planned for the Hoosiers as the powerful Iowa defense was more than Michael Penix, Jr. could handle, and according to Allen he just wasn’t on his game Saturday.

Coming off an injury, Penix Jr. wasn’t as sharp as he was last season and has some work to do, according to Allen. He added more on the injury situation, along with taking responsibility for not getting the job done.
