Former Ohio State wide receiver Jaelen Gill is following a former Buckeyes assistant coach to Boston College.

On Tuesday, Gill announced that he will be transferring to Boston College to continue his college football career. He will be joining Jeff Hafley, who took over the program as head coach following the 2019 season.

Gill announced his transfer destination with a post on Twitter. He was previously a four-star member of Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class, ranked as the No. 30 overall prospect in the cycle.

Gill played sparingly in two seasons at Ohio State, appearing in just five career games. He totaled seven receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown during his time in Columbus.

Gill came to Ohio State as a running back but transitioned to the wide receiver position. Still, because of the overwhelming talent the Buckeyes had on the roster at the skill positions, Gill was unable to carve out much playing time with the team.

Now, Gill heads to Boston College with three years of eligibility. He must sit out during the 2020 season due to NCAA transfer rules unless he is granted a waiver.
