Ex-Husker WR Brandon Reilly finds new home in the NFL

A former Nebraska wide receiver has found a new home in the NFL.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Wednesday that they have claimed Brandon Reilly off of waivers. He was previously with the Detroit Lions be being cut by the franchise.

Pittsburgh will be the fourth team Reilly has been a member of since his Nebraska days. He was with the Buffalo Bills in the 2017 season before joining the Lions in 2018. He also was on the practice squad for the Dallas Cowboys last year.

As a college receiver, Reilly totaled 70 receptions for 1,275 yards and six touchdowns at Nebraska from 2013-16. He was an undrafted free agent in 2017.

The Steelers will start the 2019 preseason on Friday, Aug. 9. They’ll host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
