Ex-Huskers LB finds new home at Western Kentucky

Former Nebraska linebacker Niko Cooper has found a new home in Conference USA.
Wednesday, Cooper confirmed that he has committed to Western Kentucky, where he will finish out his college career. He spent one season with the Huskers and transferred following the 2020 campaign.
Cooper joined the Nebraska program after starting his career at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. He was with the team for two years and totaled 25 tackles, 9 for loss, 2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles during the 2019 season.

In his lone season at Nebraska, Cooper played in seven games and was credited with 3 total stops. The Huskers ended the year with a 3-5 record in the B1G’s shortened season.
With the NCAA granting a blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes in 2020, Cooper will have two years of eligibility to use at Western Kentucky.
The Hilltoppers ended the 2020 season with a 5-7 record.
