Ex-Michigan punter announces transfer to G5 program

From Ann Arbor to San Jose.
Those are the travel plans for Michigan punter Will Hart. On Thursday, the ex-Wolverine specialist announced on Twitter that he has committed to San Jose State. He entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2020 season, one of numerous Michigan players to do so.
“I am proud to announce that I will be playing for San Jose State University this upcoming fall,” Hart wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone that has supported me along this journey. To my friends, family, teammates, and coaches — I am forever grateful.
Hart spent five seasons in Ann Arbor and has decided to take up the NCAA’s offer on the additional year of eligibility for a sixth season. During his time at Michigan, Hart played in 35 games and attempted 111 punts. He maintained a 44.3 yards per kick average with 33 punts landing inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and blasting 35 punts 50 yards or longer.
Hart played in all 26 games the Wolverines played during the 2018 and 2019 seasons and appeared in five of the team’s six contests in 2020. He punted just 4 times all year for a total of 151 yards with a long of 47.
Hart will have one year of eligibility at San Jose State and can play immediately.
