A former Michigan State kicker is swapping divisions.

On Tuesday night, redshirt freshman kicker Jack Olsen announced that he will be transferring to Northwestern to continue his college career. He made his decision with a post on Twitter.

“I am extremely excited to announce that I will be coming home (to) get a world class education and play football for the Big10 Champions of the West at Northwestern University,” Olsen wrote. “Thank you Coach Genyk and Coach Fitzgerald for this unbelievable opportunity.”

Olsen won’t have to wait long before seeing his former team, as Michigan State will play Northwestern in the first week of the season in 2021. The game is set for Saturday, Sept. 4 in Evanston.

Michigan State still has sixth-year kicker Matt Coghlin on the roster.
