Ex-Michigan WR Tarik Black announces transfer to Big 12 program

Former Michigan wide receiver Tarik Black has found a new home.
In a tweet on Tuesday night, Black announced that he’ll be finishing his college football career at Texas. The wide receiver entered the NCAA transfer portal in December after spending three seasons with the Wolverines. Black will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Longhorns.

Black totaled 25 receptions for 323 yards and a touchdown in Josh Gattis’s offense last season. It was the most productive year of his career in Ann Arbor after his first two seasons were cut short due to injury. In 2017 and 2018, Black totaled 184 yards and a touchdown on 15 catches.
A native of Cheshire, Connecticut, Black was expected to have the most interest in joining Boston College and new head coach Jeff Hafley. Instead, it looks like the former Michigan wide receiver will be continuing his career in Austin.
Out of high school, Black was a four-star recruit and a member of Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class. He was the No. 15 wide receiver of the class and ranked No. 116 overall.
Michigan finished the 2019 season with a 9-4 record. Texas was 8-5.
