Miller Kopp is in the transfer portal after three seasons at Northwestern, and he is down to three finalists for his next destination.
According to Alec Lasley with TheHoosier.com, Kopp indicated his list of three finalists includes Oregon State and Utah in the Pac-12 and B1G rival Indiana. The recent hiring of Mike Woodson as head coach of the Hoosiers has definitely made waves, and Kopp’s consideration of Indiana is simply another indication of that.
In three seasons with the Wildcats, Kopp averaged 9.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 87 career games (74 starts). The 6-foot-7 wing was second on the team in scoring this past season at 11.3 points per game. Kopp is a career 36% shooter from three-point range.
Kopp’s admission that he is considering Indiana sheds some more insight on comments that Woodson made last week. At that time, Woodson indicated Indiana was still in the transfer market this offseason for a guard and a forward.
After getting a number of key players to return to Bloomington, including leading scorer Trayce Jackson-Davis, grabbing a transfer talent like Kopp would be another slam dunk for Woodson. He has already landed Xavier Johnson, a transfer guard out of Pittsburgh, this offseason.
