It had been almost 10 days since ex-Ohio State assistant coach Zach Smith had made any sort of statement on Twitter. But that silence was broken on social media Wednesday night.

Smith, who has been accused of domestic violence against ex-wife Courtney Smith, retweeted a tone-deaf statement made by his attorney, Brad Koffel, shortly before learning the fate of Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer.

Later, Smith shared a quote from a bible verse, which reads “Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit.”

Smith, himself, did not share any thoughts on the social media platform.

It’s unlikely that Smith that will speak out anytime soon regarding the allegations against him. But it appears that the former wide receivers coach is maintaining his innocence through his activity on Twitter.
