Ex-Ohio State WR, 4-star prospect considering Michigan, Michigan State as transfer destinations

A former Ohio State wide receiver is considering trading in the scarlet and gray for the maize and blue, according to a report.
Ex-Buckeye and former 4-star talent Jameson Williams recently entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal following the conclusion of spring practice in Columbus. Already, he’s narrowed his focus down to just a few schools, according to 247Sports national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu.
Seven schools are still in consideration, including Ohio State’s B1G East rivals Michigan and Michigan State. The other five programs in the mix are Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A$M, Florida and USC.
Trieu reports that Williams’ family says it’s “a matter of days” before the receiver settles on a decision, but there is also no timeline on when he’ll make an announcement.
Williams was a 4-star member of Ohio State’s 2019 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 13 wide receiver and No. 82 overall prospect in the cycle. With a crowded receiver room in Columbus that features veterans Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson as well as youngsters like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Julian Fleming, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, Williams might’ve had trouble seeing the field.
In two years at Ohio State, Williams totaled 15 catches for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Both Michigan and Michigan State could use an experienced playmaker at the receiver position. Williams would provide that for both programs and would get the chance to play against his former team every season.
