Former Penn State wide receiver Juwan Johnson is headed to the West Coast.
On Tuesday, Oregon announced that it was adding Johnson as a graduate transfer, making him immediately eligible for the 2019 season. He has signed his financial aid agreement and will begin practice on Thursday with the Ducks.
“Juwan’s a big time addition to our program,” head coach Mario Cristobal said, according to PennLive.com. “He fits our DNA in a lot of ways and I’m excited for him to take the field. He’ll immediately elevate the competition we have going at wide receiver and the experiecne he brings to the group and the offensive side of the ball will be extremely beneficial.”

Johnson joins an explosive Oregon offense, led by star quarterback Justin Herbert. He’s expected to compete for immediate playing time with the Ducks.
Last year at Penn State, Johnson had 25 receptions for 352 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. That production was a decline from his 2017 numbers. In his career in Happy Valley, Johnson totaled 81 catches for 1,123 yards and two touchdowns.
Johnson’s first career touchdown reception came in Penn State’s B1G opener against Iowa in 2017. He hauled in the game-winning catch against the Hawkeyes, capping a seven-reception, 92-yard performance.
