Ex-Purdue CB lands on MAC roster

A former Purdue cornerback has found a home in the MAC.
On Wednesday, Kent State announced it added three transfer students to its football roster this week, one of which is former Boilermaker D’J Edwards. He transferred out of the program shortly after the beginning of camp in August.
Edwards will be a wide receiver rather than a cornerback for the Golden Flashes.
“D’J is a great student-athlete,” head football coach Sean Lewis said in a statement. “We recruited him while I was at Syracuse, but lost out to Purdue. We’re excited for him to get a fresh start here with us.”
Edwards was a member of Purdue’s 2017 recruiting class and used his true freshman season to redshirt. He is a former three-star prospect out of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Edwards will have to sit out the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He will have three years of eligibility remaining and can see the field beginning in 2019.
