Josh Imatorbhebhe was a deep threat all season long during his first year on the field for Illinois, and one person believes he will be a receiver that gets a long look from NFL teams for next year’s draft.
For the 2019 season, Imatorbhebhe finished with 33 catches for 634 yards. While those numbers do not jump off the page, he finished with nine touchdowns and averaged 19.2 yards per catch, making him a vertical threat for teams to deal with.
Jim Nagy, Executive Director for the Reese’s Senior Bowl, recently tabbed the Illini receiver as one player to watch for the upcoming 2021 draft process. In particular, Nagy highlighted Imatorbhebhe’s vertical which has been recorded at 46 inches:
Must learn how to pronounce the name of Illinois WR Josh Imatorbhebhe (ee-MAT-or-bay-bay) because we’ll be saying it a lot during the pre-draft process. USC transfer is one of most springy athletes we’ve seen on tape. Google his 46” VJ from The Opening! 🤯#TheDraftStartsInMOBILE pic.twitter.com/ZZkFanRPwf

Add those hops to Imatorbhebhe’s already long 6-foot-2 frame and he is a serious problem for many defensive backs. It will be interesting to see if he can improve on his 2019 numbers before preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft.
