Expert Mel Kiper Jr. includes 8 B1G names on Top 25 list for 2021 NFL Draft

It’s never too early to start thinking about the NFL Draft and it looks like the B1G will have a handful of first round selections.
ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest big board and there’s 8 B1G players in his top 25. Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields (2nd) and Penn State inside linebacker Micah Parsons (4th) are in Kiper’s top 5.
Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence holds the top spot on Kiper’s list. Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell (3rd) and Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith (5th) round out the top 5.

The other B1G players on the list include:
Fields is behind Lawrence on Kiper’s list but ahead of him in ESPN’s Heisman Watch. Fields is second to only Alabama quarterback Mac Jones. Fields amassed 314 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air, while adding a rushing score in last week’s victory vs. Rutgers. For the season, Fields has totaled 908 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and no interceptions for No. 3 Ohio State.
The absence of Parsons has been hard to overcome for winless Penn State (0-3). The reigning B1G Linebacker of the Year opted out of this season due to COVID-19 concerns. Parsons tallied 109 tackles, 5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery last season.
This Saturday, Ohio State visits Maryland (2:30 p.m. CST/BTN) and Penn State heads to Nebraska (11 a.m. CST/FS1).
