Eyabi Okie has landed on his latest program, and he’s headed to Charlotte, according to Matt Zentiz of On3 Sports.
His decision could have something to do with new Charlotte coach previously working as an associate head coach at Michigan.
Okie is a Michigan edge who entered the transfer portal for a 4th time about 10 days ago. The Baltimore native previously had stints at Alabama, Houston and UT Martin. Okie finished the 2022 season with 9 tackles (3.5 for loss) and 4.5 sacks in nine games. Okie was suspended by Alabama and entered the transfer portal before the 2019 season.
Okie was the No. 4 player nationally in the 247 Sports Composite when he signed with Alabama in December, 2017. He played in 12 games as a freshman in 2018, and earned All-Freshman SEC honors after he made 2 tackles for a loss.
