It hasn’t been a banner season for the Dallas Cowboys but Ezekiel Elliott continues to make the case as one of the best running backs in the NFL.
Elliott now has 50 receptions in a season for a third straight year, tying a franchise mark with the great Herschel Walker, one of the most dominant running backs of the 1980s.
With that last reception, Ezekiel Elliott surpassed 50 receptions on the season for the third time – third consecutive – of his career to tie Herschel Walker for the second-most seasons with 50-plus receptions by a club running back in Cowboys history.

The Cowboys came into Week 17 at 6-9, having won their last three games.
The former Ohio State running back entered the season finale with a calf injury and has been seen on the FOX broadcast on the sidelines, being checked by the Cowboys medical personnel. There is a fairly good chance that he may not finish the game.
He came into the game with 937 yards on 20 carries with five touchdowns. A season ago, Elliott had 1,357 rushing yards with 12 touchdowns.
The former first-round pick is in his fifth season in the NFL, having topped 1,000 rushing yards in three of those seasons.
