Well, this is not how Iowa fans had hoped that the regular season finale would go. Iowa struggled against Nebraska in the first half and the fans and media let the Hawkeyes have it on social media.
An offense that has already had problems this season didn’t get much help. Spencer Petras left the game with an injury and remained on the sidelines leaving in Alex Padilla who has only played in one game this season.
Cooper DeJean also suffered an injury in the first quarter and was seen in sweatpants on the sidelines.
If the Hawkeyes can’t turn things around, the B1G West title is going to fall to either Purdue or Illinois. It looks like Nebraska is enjoying playing the spoiler role so far.
Here are some of the reactions on social media from fans and media members alike:
Big day for Big Red: closing in on Matt Rhule as next coach, and closing in on saving America from Iowa in the Big Ten title game.

All-time meltdown mode for Iowa.
Nebraska touchdown and about to make it 17-0.

Unless Nebraska gets all kinds of dumb, Purdue and Illinois have something to play for tomorrow.

1. I don’t want Iowa to lose.
2. I don’t want Iowa to lose. Just wanted that to be clear.3. If they are going to lose, I would prefer that the offense continues to look absolutely horrific, if only to have maximum heat this offseason.
4. I don’t want Iowa to lose.

17 points might as well be 42 the way Iowa looks

If Iowa comes back and wins this game, it’s honestly pathetic this team will play for a conference championship.

Bro,
Iowa needs a win to go to the Big Ten Championship, and is losing by 17 to three-win Nebraska with an interim coach.
This is why divisions need to cease…
