Nebraska’s famous sell-out streak of 375 games will continue this weekend vs. Fordham thanks to a pair of “generous donations.”

The Huskers announced that news on Tuesday afternoon, saying the tickets will be given to “underserved youth.”

“We had two generous donors come forward and purchase the remaining tickets for the home opener so that we could provide those tickets to young people throughout the state,” athletic director Trev Alberts said in a statement. “These donors have a strong commitment to Nebraska Athletics and understand our history and tradition. They also have a desire for young people, who may not otherwise have the opportunity, to experience a Nebraska Football game day at Memorial Stadium.”

The streak, which dates back to 1962, was at risk after Nebraska’s 30-22 loss at Illinois in Week 0. The Huskers are now 12-21 under coach Scott Frost as he continues his fourth season in Lincoln.

Here are the details for how the Huskers will be donating the tickets, including a “red carpet experience:”

Numerous college football fans and media shared their reactions to the extension of the sell-out streak on Tuesday afternoon.
