Fans and media shared a wide range of opinions on Ohio State’s placement in the updated College Football Playoff rankings, which were revealed on Tuesday night.

The Buckeyes came in at No. 6, falling four spots after their loss to Michigan in Ann Arbor in Week 13. Ohio State fell behind Michigan, Washington, Florida State and Oregon with the loss.

However, Ohio State does remain above a pair of other CFP hopefuls in Texas and Alabama. Both the Longhorns and Crimson Tide have one loss going into their respective conference championship games this weekend.

The reaction for Ohio State’s ranking was all over the map. Some thought having Ohio State as high as No. 6 was not justifiable given the Buckeyes’ lack of an opponent this weekend as Michigan and Iowa will battle for the Big Ten crown.

ESPN’s Greg McElroy was amongst those who made the case that Ohio State is ranked too high this week.

Others believe, despite the loss to the Wolverines, that Ohio State shouldn’t have fallen below a Florida State team that is playing without starting quarterback Jordan Travis for the rest of the season.

Here’s the best of the reaction to Ohio State’s No. 6 ranking:
