It’s no secret that Ohio State is loaded with talent and speed at pretty much every position on the field. Urban Meyer had an obsession with getting the quickest guys available in each recruiting class.

So when it comes to the amount of speed in the running back room, there’s plenty to go around. But which Buckeye is the fastest at the position?

Running backs coach Tony Alford provided a somewhat surprising answer. And one that some of his pupils may disagree with, according to him.

Tony Gerdeman of The O-Zone asked Alford who he thought was the fastest player at the position. He responded with redshirt freshman Master Teague.

“Probably Master,” Alford said. And when he was asked if J.K. Dobbins and DeMario McCall would agree with that statement, Alford responded, “Probably not, but you asked me.”

Teague appeared in four games for the Buckeyes last season, totaling 106 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. His best performance came in the season opener against Oregon State, posting 56 yards and a score on six touches.

Below is the video of Alford’s response from Gerdeman:
