Jay Higgins and the Iowa defense are looking to create some havoc and wreck Wisconsin’s offense in Week 7. That matchup for the Heartland Trophy will be at home for the Badgers inside Camp Randall Stadium but Higgins will have some family in the stands Saturday afternoon.

Prior to Saturday’s kickoff, Higgins’ father — Roy Higgins III — sent off a video on social media from Madison. The elder Higgins referenced a humorous exchange with a local state trooper and put the Badgers on notice that Madison will be “Hawkeye Territory” this Saturday.

“Listen, I’m here in Madison. I’m right outside this football facility, and shout out the state trooper who got on his intercom and said ‘Go ahead and cross the street Hawkeye fans, I’m not gonna hit you.’ But we in this place,” said Higgins. “They call it Madison, I call it Hawkeye Territory cause I’m here. Let’s go Hawks.”

The Heartland Trophy rivalry is always a good one, and this season should be no different. As for Jay Higgins, he is Iowa’s team leader in tackles with 74 on the year to go with an interception and 3 pass breakups.
