One FCS conference has already released its plan to attempt playing football in the spring.

Monday, the SWAC announced its spring schedule plan for 2021 after the conference opted against playing football in the fall. It is the first conference at the Division I level to release a plan.

According to a statement from the league, each member of the 10-team league will play six conference games and will also have one open weekend to schedule a non-conference opponent. The season is set to begin on the weekend of Feb. 27 with the SWAC Championship Game set for May 1.

In addition, all teams will have the week of March 13 off due to the men’s and women’s SWAC basketball tournaments, both of which are still scheduled for March 9-13.

The championship game will be played at the home stadium of the highest-seeded team at the end of the regular season.

All FCS conferences postponed football from the fall and will attempt to play in the spring.
