Southern Miss coach Will Hall had an extremely emotional response to the season-opening 31-7 loss against South Alabama.
Hall, who is in his first season at the helm of Southern Miss, expressed a dire need to be successful at his job.

Prior to Southern Miss, Hall was most recently Tulane’s offensive coordinator from 2019-2020. Hall was previously head coach for West Alabama (2011-2013) and West Georgia (2014-2016). Hall amassed a combined 56-20 record at those two stops.
Southern Miss finished with a 3-7 record in the shortened 2020 season, with head coach Jay Hopson resigning after the first game.
Next up for Southern Miss is its home opener vs. Grambling on Sept. 11 (7 p.m. EST/ESPN3).
