Former Indiana OL Dan Feeney selected early in third round of NFL draft

Dan Feeney is heading West.
The former Indiana offensive lineman was drafted No. 71 overall by the Los Angeles Chargers. Feeney will have a chance to block for one of the all-time great B1G running backs in Melvin Gordon.
Feeney made history during his impressive college career as Indiana’s fourth ever two-time All-American.
The 6-4, 310-pound offensive lineman surrendered just one sack in 310 passing attempts in 2016. Even more impressive, Feeney allowed just two sacks in 3,355 career snaps.

Feeney was a key part of an Indiana offense that set program records across the board in 2016. The Hoosiers had four 1,000-yard rushers during Feeney’s final three seasons in Bloomington.
His selection marked the second straight year in which Indiana had an offensive lineman selected on Day 2. It also marked the fourth straight year that Indiana had an offensive player drafted in the first three rounds.
