Almost everyone is pegging Michigan as the favorite to win the B1G in 2019. Despite those seven straight losses to Ohio State and no division titles for Jim Harbaugh through his first four seasons, there’s a belief this could finally be the year the program gets over the hump.

This week, Athlon Sports released its predictions for the B1G in 2019, and it’s also a big fan of the Wolverines this fall. The publication has Michigan finally clearing a major hurdle, winning the East Division and making its first-ever trip to Indianapolis for the B1G Championship Game.

It would be a season that would quiet at least some of Harbaugh’s critics.

Athlon Sports is predicting Michigan will finish the season with an 11-1 regular season record and an 8-1 mark in conference play. The Wolverines are facing Nebraska in the B1G Championship Game, per Athlon’s predictions.

But that’s not all. Michigan won’t just win the division, according to Athlon Sports, it will defeat the Huskers in the title game. More than likely, a B1G title would secure a spot in the College Football Playoff for the Wolverines, even though the conference champion has been left out each of the last three years.

Vegas has released some early odds for Michigan’s 2019 season, and already Harbaugh and Co. are favored in every contest. Athlon Sports isn’t the only one that believes this could finally be the year in Ann Arbor.
