A week after the SEC anointed itself the king of everything, reality bit back. While the Big Ten was beating Power Five conference teams and earning the first top-10 win of 2015, the SEC took a step back.

Bret Bielema, who called out Ohio State’s schedule, couldn’t lead his Arkansas team past almighty Toledo. No. 6 Auburn, the media’s pick to win the conference, needed overtime to get past powerhouse Jacksonville State.

And Tennessee, which had a 14-point fourth-quarter lead at home against Oklahoma, couldn’t survive that, either.

It was so bad for the SEC, that the conference’s biggest apologist, Paul Finebaum, went off on SEC fans on ESPN.

Isn’t it amazing how much one week can change everything? It’s a marathon, college football fans. Let’s all just shut up until conference play starts.
