The 2018 season didn’t go as planned for Miami (FL).
The Hurricanes were anticipated to do big things this season, but disappointment ensued. A year after facing Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl, the Hurricanes made it to the Pinstripe Bowl after going 7-5.
Oddly enough, Miami played Wisconsin once again, and history repeated itself: Wisconsin won.
The Badgers actually won big. The final score was 35-3. Again, this season didn’t go as planned for the Hurricanes.
What the program also wasn’t planning for was for head coach Mark Richt to announce his retirement. But, on Sunday, Richt did just that:

As Richt stated in his message, this was his decision. It wasn’t Miami’s. A 7-6 season certainly wasn’t what Hurricane fans were expecting, though.
Perhaps, Richt did what many wanted around the program — for him to be gone.
