Football career over for Ohio State tight end A.J. Alexander

The football career of one Ohio State tight end has come to an unfortunate end.
Redshirt sophomore tight end A.J. Alexander’s career as a football player for the Buckeyes is over after suffering a knee injury last spring. He missed the entire 2017 seoasn but was hoping for a return in 2018.
Tony Gerdeman of The Ozone tweeted out the news on Tuesday afternoon. Alexander will be placed on a medical scholarship.

Alexander played in all 13 games for the Buckeyes in 2016, and caught four passes for 27 yards. His best outing came in a blowout win against Nebraska, hauling in three receptions for 24 yards.
He also made his first career start in the 2016 game against Penn State.
Knee injuries have hindered Alexander throughout his playing career. He missed most of his senior season in high school due to a knee injury in 2014. Still, Alexander was a four-star prospect who received 20 offers from Division I programs.
Unfortunatley, this injury was just too much to overcome for Alexander.
