Former Buckeye, current Badger forward Micah Potter enjoys breakout game in upset win over No. 20 Penn State

Micah Potter is a 6-foot-11 forward for Wisconsin. But, he wasn’t always a Badger.
In 2016-17 and 2017-18, he played for Ohio State. As a Buckeye, he averaged 4.1 points and nearly three rebounds per game. He then transferred to Wisconsin and had to sit the 2018-19 season.
He was then denied an appeal by the NCAA to allow him to play for the Badgers during the first semester of the 2019-20 season. Potter ultimately had to sit a year-and-a-half.
But, he’s a Badger now. And against Illinois on Wednesday, Jan. 8, the stretch-forward scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a loss. That wasn’t good enough.
He then topped his 13-and-9 performance with a 24-and-13 one in the 58-49 road win over No. 20 Penn State:

He also completely took Penn State star center Mike Watkins out of the game. Watkins played 15 minutes and went scoreless.
Watkins gave Ethan Happ fits the last few years. Potter, a different type of big who can space the floor was huge.

As Evan Flood mentioned, he not only had 24-and-13. He also held Penn State’s Mike Watkins — a very productive big man — to zero points in 15 minutes of play. Watkins is averaging 11 points and eight rebounds per game this season.
Potter is finally being able to show what he’s all about. And the Badgers are finally able to reap the rewards of him choosing Madison to continue his playing career.
