Former Buckeye E.J. Liddell exits Pelicans Summer League game with ‘right knee injury’

Former Buckeye EJ Liddell went down early in the New Orleans Pelicans’ Summer League matchup against Atlanta.
Liddell left the game then returned for a few more series, then fell to the ground in pain once again. A few minutes later, Liddell was declared out for the rest of the game.

2 knee injuries in the same game is never good, 2 to the same knee is even worse. The Pelicans have not released an official update on Liddell’s future at this time.
Liddell was a star for the Buckeyes in college, but surprised Ohio State fans by dropping to the second round. He was selected 41st overall by the Pelicans.
The 6-foot-7 power forward averaged 14.1 points and just over 6 rebounds per game across his career in Columbus.
