Ryan Shazier is officially a graduate of Ohio State University.

On Friday, Shazier announced that he has officially earned his degree from the school. He spent three years in Columbus and was a member of the football program from 2011-13. He declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season and was a 1st round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Shazier was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the No. 15 overall pick. He was a two-time Pro Bowler and recorded 299 tackles with 7 sacks, 7 interceptions, 7 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries in 4 seasons in the professional ranks. But Shazier’s career ended early after sustaining a severe spinal injury during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in December 2017.

“Proud grad of Ohio State now,” Shazier wrote on Twitter.

In three seasons at Ohio State, Shazier piled up 317 tackles which includes 45.5 tackles for loss. He was also credited with 15 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 4 pass break-ups and an interception during his time in Columbus. Shazier was a 1st-team All-B1G and All-American selection following the 2013 college football season.

Now, along with the long list of accomplishments on the field, Shazier can add a college degree from Ohio State to his incredible list of achievements. It’s really cool for the former Buckeye.
