Ohio State having major representation at the NFL Combine is nothing new. Neither is sending multiple guys in the first round of the NFL Draft. But it doesn’t cease to amaze for Buckeye Santonio Holmes.

The former Ohio State wide receiver is in Indianapolis this week, mentoring Buckeye receivers trying to maximize their potential and improve their draft stock over the next two months. There are three receivers from OSU taking part in the event, and 10 total players from the program earned an invitation.

It’s a total that really impresses Holmes.

“Excuse my French, but this is f—ing amazing,” Holmes told Eleven Warriors. “It’s amazing to know that these guys really tore it up this season and they worked their tail off to be where they are today, and they deserve it.”

Johnnie Dixon, Terry McLaurin and Parris Campbell are the three receivers taking part in NFL Combine activities this week. The other seven Buckeyes in attendance include Nick Bosa, Dwayne Haskins, Isaiah Prince, Michael Jordan, Mike Weber, Dre’Mont Jones and Kendall Sheffield.

Ohio State’s potential big draft class will be headlined by Bosa and Haskins, both could be top 10 picks in April. But Holmes is hoping the receivers can turn some heads while in Indianapolis.

“This is a job that depends on the rest of your life,” Holmes said. “You’re only going to play it for less than 10 years, so therefore you better maximize the opportunity that you get, and try not to blow it.”
