Former Illinois offensive lineman Vederian Lowe added to a big weekend for the Illini during the NFL’s Week 11 action!
Illinois picked up a big win this weekend, as the Fighting Illini moved to 7-3 on the season with a 38-16 victory against Michigan State on Saturday.
On Sunday, a former Illinois player caught a touchdown for the New England Patriots during their game against the Los Angeles Rams. However, it wasn’t a skilled player, but an offensive lineman as Lowe made his presence felt by catching a 4-yard pass from rookie quarterback Drake Maye.

Lowe played his collegiate football at Illinois from 2017-2021 and was drafted with the 184th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
He signed with the Patriots in 2023 and has spent the last 2 seasons in New England. While he was able to make a big play in the game, it wasn’t enough to help the Patriots win as the Rams held on for the 28-22 win.
Maye had a chance to lead the Patriots on a last-minute drive, but he threw an interception in the final minute to give the Rams the win. Maye finished the game with 282 yards and 2 touchdowns.
